CAT5 / S5 Vehicle Trackers

CAT5 vehicle tracking meets the highest Thatcham TQA industry standards. The device operates using GPS/GLONASS, GPRS and GSM technology. CAT5 vehicle trackers have an in-built battery for the tracker to work even if the vehicle power supply gets removed.

Tracker is also built to monitor the battery voltage level and detect if the Driver Recognition System has been activated. In the event of theft, the system can remotely immobilise the vehicle at police request.

SmarTrack Category 5 DRS Pro (Proximity)

Disarms when the proximity tag is within the area of the vehicle. If the tag is not inside the vehicle when the customer is driving, the Global Telemetrics Control Centre will call to confirm the vehicle is safe.

SmarTrack Category 5 DRST (Transponder)

When the card is placed on the receptacle hidden within the vehicle, the tracking device is then disarmed. If this process is not completed, the customer will be contacted by a member of the Global Telemetrics Control Centre.

This system is covertly fitted by our approved installation centres/mobile installers that are located throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition)

The driver card is a discreet pocket-sized card that you carry with you whenever you drive your vehicle. On leaving your vehicle, the system automatically arms itself.

If the vehicle is moved without the driver card present, Vodafone Automotive’s Secure Operating Centre is alerted instantly to potential theft. This means that even if your vehicle is taken using your own keys, the theft is detected immediately.

How does it work?

CAT5 trackers come with 2 unique driver cards. An authorised driver must have a driver card in their possession when using the vehicle.

  • After 70 seconds of engine switched off, the tracker will kicks and start protecting your vehicle.
  • Once the driver card is 3 metres away from the car, the tracker enables the car security.
  • As soon as the driver card is within range of the vehicle, the tracker will disarm itself.
  • If the tracker detects that your car has been moved without the driver car then a silent alert will be sent to Vodafone Automotive 24 hour Secure Operating Centre. You will be alerted by the centre to make sure the vehicle has not been stolen.

For added security, if the driver card is not present, the system will also generate an alert if vehicle:

  • Gets lifted or towed away without the keys
  • Battery is disconnected or discharged

Remote Engine Immobilisation

Remote Engine Immobilisation technology enables Police to authorise Vodafone Automotive to send an alert to the vehicle to prevent the engine being restarted once it comes to a standstill. This significantly increases the chance of your vehicle being recovered undamaged, and can also help Police to avoid the high-speed pursuit of suspect vehicles.
